The Winter CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) show is over- we are back: exhausted, happy, and totally inspired about all the new lines we saw. Wait till you see all the great things we've ordered. We started off early at a pre-show party from Creative Imaginations where Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Hans Sols, Stormtroopers and other assorted characters helped kick off their new Star Wars line. Here's Liz on Sunday being held captive:
"Help me Obi-wan Kenobi..."
Sunday morning was the beginning of the show. We were ready with our rolling bags to scout out the best products.
The mini-book craze is still strong, with lot of new shapes. Cupcakes seem to be the favorite, but lots of emphasis on kids and any type of party.
These from Best Creations:
Cosmo Cricket's black chipboard house, while not new, was displayed with a "non-Halloween" twist:
Clear Scraps new Clear mini's line was a favorite at the show. Their booth was packed all day long. There are 11 to choose from, including a cupcake, tree, heart and owl. Here are some samples:
We placed a big order with Maya Road- stamps, albums, ribbons and rub-ons. And finally, some mini-albums for boys: gears and dinosaurs!
This super, cute sample chronicles the designer's love of Starbucks on a coffee cup acrylic album.
There were so many projects and make-n-takes that used the Zutter Bind-it-all, like the ones from Product Performers, using Teresa Collins' line:
Some of our favorite make-n-takes were given by Quick Quotes. We ordered several kits to make up as class kits. We think they'll be a huge hit. Watch the blog and newsletter for upcoming dates. Make sure you sign up early- you do NOT want to miss these! Here are some examples:
Are you inspired yet? And I haven't even told you about the fun we had with Making Memories who gave away lots of Slices and paper packs. And the girls in the booth were just a whole lot of fun to be around! Plus, we won one of the hottest new tools at the show- and will be demoing it and taking preorders at the store. But wait, I'm going to save that for a later time. Heehee- I LOVE to keep people in suspense, but don't worry, it will be WORTH IT!
